My name is Botshelo Modau ,21 years of age , In 2003 when I was in Grade 11 , I fell severely sick , my face ,joints and legs started swelling up , the major organs of my body ,heart , lungs and kidneys started failing . I was in school when all of this happened and as result of the sickness the following year 2014 in September I had to drop out of school. I failed Matric (Grade 12) that year because of the sickness.
I was admitted in hospital and I had to consult with doctor at hospital every week which I had a lumpnode, biopsy, kidney biopsy , draining of water around my lungs and heart, I also had two bone marrows biopsies done. All this was done so the doctors can diagnose me. Doctor eventually found that I had chronic autoimmune disease called Lupus. A lupus patient’s immune system attacks their body instead of protecting it or fighting the viruses that attack the body. Hence the patient will get inflammations, organ failure and other body issue infections. Doctor put me on the medication that I had to take for the rest of my life , I was also advised to stay away from public places to avoid certain infections
When sickness affect you physically it also affect you mentally and emotionally , I became depressed ,confused and started losing hope. I QUESTIONED AND DOUBTED GOD , BECAUSE IN MIDST OF THE DISEASE IT FELT AS THOUGH HE HAD FORSAKEN ME OR HE WAS PUNISHING ME FOR SOMETHING.CARE BIBLE CHURCH YOUTH MINISTRY KEPT ON PRAYING FOR ME AND THEY WERE SUPPORTIVE TO ME AND MY FAMILY . THROUGH CARE BIBLE PRAYERS AND WORD FROM ABOVE I WAS HEALED ,STABLE IN JESUS NAME AND I MANAGED TO PASS MY MATRIC, AS WE SPEAK I CURRENTLY STUDYING AND WORKING PART-TIME TOWARDS MY DREAM IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY.
